Finnish leading ship company Viking Line is moving the office of its Estonian subsidiary to the seaside commercial premises at Porto Franco. The relocation of the offices from its Hobujaama Street office to Porto Franco strengthens the company\u2019s brand and thanks to the high energy class of the Porto Franco buildings, reduces Viking Line\u2019s environmental footprint.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs a ship company operating in the \u00c5land Islands, the sea offers us our livelihood, so the welfare of the Baltic Sea is important to us. We wish to be a flagship in offering new solutions that reduce environmental impact and we have worked in the interests of a cleaner Baltic Sea for a long time. This is why Porto Franco was the one and only solution for us, as we will be able to pursue more energy efficient, sustainable and greener land operations. It is a matter of the heart for us,\u201d said Inno Borodenko<\/strong>, the Executive Manager of Viking Line\u2019s Estonian subsidiary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Viking Line is a shipping company established in 1959 with its headquarters in \u00c5land. The company operates five passenger vessels in the shipping traffic between Estonia, Finland, \u00c5land and Sweden. The author of the Porto Franco concept is Tom Klingholz from the London-based architectural bureau Chapman Taylor. The authors of the architectural design are Estonian architects Mihkel T\u00fc\u00fcr and Ott Kadarik from the contemporary and innovative architectural bureau Kadarik, T\u00fc\u00fcr. Architects. Porto Franco is also applying for the LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certificate for energy-efficient buildings, which acknowledges buildings that have been designed according to the principles of clean technologies and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
